This year, the 20×20 campaign aims to “create a cultural shift in our perception of girls and women in sport”. The campaign has set the following targets:
- a 20% increase in media coverage of women in sport
- a 20% increase in female participation at all levels of sport
- a 20% increase in attendance at women’s games and events
Two Provinces Triathlon has always had great female participation and the race’s organiser Lanesboro Triathlon Club now has 50% female membership! We can think of no better way to celebrate our 10th anniversary race than welcoming an even larger proportion of female athletes – maybe even the largest female participation of any race this year?
